The Roost: Winery Near Collingwood, Ontario

The Roost is a winery near Collingwood, Ontario (about 14 minutes from Kimberley, ON) that serves their delicious handmade, small batch cold climate wine. The Roost Winery is located on an incredible property in rural Clarksburg with the most beautiful vineyards and view of Georgian Bay as a backdrop.

It’s definitely a stunning winery and one I recommend that you visit, especially in the summer months because you can sit outside and enjoy the view which, in my opinion, is one of the main things that makes this winery so special. They have various sections outside with lots of places to sit, including a full covered patio. My favourite place is in the Muskoka chairs outside. If it happens to be raining or you’re visiting on a cold day, they have a full indoor tasting room that’s lovely.

Whether you’re ordering wine tasting flights, a glass of wine or even a non-alcoholic drink, they have their property set up perfectly for you to enjoy the view and your wine. This winery is up on a hill so the views of the rolling hills are incredible. Our servers have always been friendly and really knowledgeable about their wines.

They do offer free tours of the winery every day that they’re open at 12:15pm (except Saturdays). They recommend that you make reservations if you’re planning a group tasting or their deluxe tasting. We are locals so we’re lucky that we can visit throughout the week when they aren’t as busy. If you’re able to do that, that’s always best. However, if your group is six people or more, they require a reservation so they can have seating prepared and available for you. I highly recommend adding The Roost to your list of wineries to visit near Collingwood, ON.
